Education quality is one of the key factors determining the progress of a nation. In the global context, Indonesia still faces various challenges related to the gap in education quality which can affect the competitiveness of human resources. This study aims to analyze the gap in the quality of education in Indonesia from a global perspective and its implications for the national education system. This research uses a literature study method by reviewing various scientific sources such as academic journals, research reports, and educational documents relevant to the research topic. The results of the study indicate that the gap in education quality in Indonesia is influenced by several factors, including the unequal distribution of qualified teachers, limited educational facilities and infrastructure, socio-economic conditions of the community, and differences in access to education between regions. In addition, technological developments and the demands of globalization also present challenges for the national education system in improving the quality of learning. These disparities have implications for the inequality in the quality of human resources produced by the education system. Therefore, strategic efforts are needed to improve the quality and equity of education, such as strengthening education policies, improving teacher competencies, and ensuring equal distribution of educational facilities across regions in Indonesia. With continuous and integrated efforts, it is expected that the gap in education quality can be minimized so that the national education system can produce qualified human resources who are globally competitive.
